Letter about this week Monday 12/14/2009

So were to begin about this week.... well let's start with tuesday. On tuesday I went to visit a couple of inactives in the area. One in particular was a sister named xiamara(zi-a-mar-a) sho has been struggling with her driving test. She apparently needs her license. It was so funny actually because her husband wants her to get it so he doesn't have to worry about laundry anymore lol. So anyways
, we set up a way to teach her family and then visit her and help her become a little more active by the end of the year. So that night I went over to see Pepe, and Noemi, thanks to Elder Ungas great mind we were able to go to the gospel and help Noemi with any difficulties she had. Then Bam! set a new date for her baptism on the 13th of January.... hopefully she will be ready.
On wednesday we(all the elders in the mission and sisters) had mission conference to not only comemorate the birth of christ but to also hear some b-e-a-utiful talks by different leaders in our mission. The best was the end part where all the other missionaries went up and sharred their testimonies. They were not only heart felt but really empahsized on being obedient. The thing is that in our mission currently there is a need for more obedient missionaries. So our president spoke specifically on how we can be more obedient to the mission standards. By the end of the night we were so tired that we went out and preached the gospel some more ;).
Well on thursday me and Elder Unga planned a lesson for the guy who spoke in last sundays testimony meeting and started shouting in the air to joseph smith and Jesus christ. We taught he how we all recieve personal revelation but that sometimes it is better not to share those things that are sacred.  Anyways, he told us he was raised in Cuba and one time he met a mermaid... that's right a mermaid lol. He says that it was the size of a shrimp lol.
well on friday we just basically had an activity for the ward. It was wonderful.... but the problem is that the whole ward did not attend. So it was so fun but not alot of people went. We had a scavenger hunt, and jepordy and to top things off we had a marathon of activites.. Saturday was good. but sunday was better. Because we were able to attend the christmas fireside at the church and hear all the missionaries sing. They wouldn't let me and Macdonald sing because we didn't go to the final practice. Silly I know but I love you mom and I hope to hear from you soon Christ mas is near and I love this gospel.
With love,
Elder Gamez
